Meet Sarah Owens, Sourdough Baker

Sarah Owens is the James Beard-award winning author of Sourdough: Recipes for Rustic Fermented Breads, Sweets, Savories, and More. In a video collaboration with GE Appliances, Sarah explains how the women in her family influenced her and how baking and gardening ground her daily routine.

"I really think it's so important to slow down in the kitchen and inhale the warm cinnamon and taste the citrus and consider how all of those things are going to meld together... that's really what makes the day enjoyable."

Her next book, Toast & Jam: Modern Recipes for Rustic Baked Goods and Sweet & Savory Spreads will be available this August.
